Hello everyone! I’m Renko Usami, a 1st year student majoring in super-unified physics. My first semester of college has finally come to an end. The courses were quite simple, being my first year and all. In fact, I’ve actually been studying physics myself long before university. Most of the material was made up of things I knew, but that did allow me to take my time leisurely.
Because of that, I realized that I didn’t have much to do during breaks. With most of my assignments finished within an hour or two, I can’t help but feel dreadfully bored during the time left. I don’t really have anyone to talk to as well. I did try looking for clubs that could potentially catch my attention, but none of them seemed all that interesting. The club board is usually filled with either huge clubs that are usually used as an excuse to meet people, or small clubs that didn’t really seem worth my time. Occasionally, there would be clubs that would claim to find the next major breakthrough in neo-string physics and what not, but they mostly end up dwindling in activity, with no new information to keep their motivations up (Most of those just end up turning into a place where the members merely share the latest news anyway).
To tell the truth, I’ve always had an interest in searching for worlds beyond our own. Someone I know used to always tell stories about a fantastical world. Most people would think that they were completely made up, but I always believed them to be true. One reason I wanted to study physics in the first place was that I wanted to uncover this reality we live in, and see beyond. If our world truly is the result of fundamental waves interfering with each other at a specific phase, there must be other worlds that arise from others, adjacent to our own, yet out of sight. I know nobody would believe me though. Of course, without any empirical evidence or a method to gather them, I don’t have anything to support my claims.
As such, I decided to make my own blog for the summer break. I’ll be staying here in Kyoto for the summer, so I chose to take my thoughts and sort them out in an old-style blog to pass the time, while recording the activies I do. Thus, this site won’t contain even half the information you’d find in a typical infocule, but if you’re still on the Web, I suppose that goes without saying. Despite that, I hope you enjoy reading these thoughts of mine, and I hope this simple blog can grow into something larger. That’s all for this entry. Signing off, boundary chaser Renko Usami.
